You probably spring clean your house every year, without fail, but have you ever considered spring cleaning your health? The fact is that most of us think about making small changes in our lives to improve our health. However, many times we fail to act and keep telling ourselves that we’ll start tomorrow. Unfortunately, tomorrow never comes.
For instance, have you been thinking about looking into physical therapy for pelvic health for the past several months? If you haven’t started to find help yet, perhaps consider taking a leap right now.
Here are some other small and huge leaps you can consider to spring cleaning your health.
1. Put Yourself On Top of The To-Do List
For many of us, our health isn’t our first priority. Between household, career, and family, we don’t put ourselves first and only give our health attention when it begins to decline. This year, you should think about doing things differently.
Put yourself on top of your to-do list and put everything else second. A healthier, you can take care of the rest of the tasks much easier. Putting yourself first means prioritizing your health and happiness and not pushing yourself to over-extend yourself.
2. Make Yourself A Healthy Detox Drink

If you are unsure how to start taking care of yourself, a great start is with a detox drink. It is the perfect way to get more fresh fruits and vegetables into your system.
A detox drink can help remove toxins from your body that can help boost your immunity. It may also improve your metabolism and help you get rid of physical and mental fatigue. As an added bonus, it might even help your skin glow!
3. Fix Your Sleep Schedule
Are you sleeping enough? Maybe you are, but your sleep quality might not be the best it can be.
Your body needs proper rest at a set schedule. This means going to bed at the same time each night and waking up at the same time—no sleeping in on the weekends as this can cause more fatigue.
While fixing your sleep schedule is the first step, you should focus on getting quality sleep as well. This means limiting caffeine or screen time before bed, and you should also try and limit distractions while sleeping.
4. Schedule Doctor’s Appointments and Screenings
No matter how young or old, regular visits to the doctor are important for your body’s health as well as for your mental peace. A huge part of spring cleaning your health is based on visiting the doctor for your annual screening appointment and getting all the required routine blood work done as well as any other necessary tests recommended by your doctor.
Depending on your age, it might be time to schedule a mammogram, EKG, or even a colonoscopy to make sure you are in optimal health.
5. Purge Everything but Healthy Goods from The Pantry And Fridge

Believe it or not, spring cleaning your fridge and pantry is also part of spring cleaning your health. If you have cookies, sweets, or chips in the pantry, think about giving them away or limiting the amount that you consume.
In general, if you want to start a healthier diet, it is best to start today. Clean out your fridge and pantry and remove everything you no longer want in your diet, including items such as vegetable oils, white flour and pasta, soft drinks, and so on. Once you have completed your purge, head on a grocery run to stock up on healthier ingredients like olive oil and whole wheat pasta.
6. Get Rid Of The Salt Shaker On Your Dining Table
Do you still have a salt shaker on your dining table or breakfast counter? Put it away in a cabinet. Excess salt is not healthy, so it is best to reduce the temptation of adding additional salt to your food.
Think about putting the salt shaker somewhere out of sight and out of reach. Only take it out when you’re cooking.
7. Step Out And Breathe In Some Fresh Air
One of the best ways to spring clean your health is to step outside for about fifteen minutes. You don’t necessarily have to work out or walk—just breathing will do.
A small dose of fresh air and some sunlight can do wonders for your health. It can cleanse you physically and mentally—try it.
8. Try Yoga

Speaking of physical and mental cleansing, you should also consider cleansing your soul. If you haven’t tried it already, we highly recommend trying yoga. Not only is it one of the best ways to spring clean your health, but it will also help connect your mind, body, and soul and can make you feel like a new person.
9. Let Go Of All Negativity
For most people, yoga does help to get rid of negativity, but you should consider making it your core focus when spring cleaning your health.
Our everyday thoughts affect our physical health more than we realize. Negative emotions can make us feel fatigued and frustrated. A huge part of becoming healthier is to let go of negativity. Once you let go of all the bad emotions plaguing you, you’ll feel lighter and healthier.
